This scene was filmed inside an actual dressing room at
Ontario Motor Speedway, note the painting on wall.
You gotta love the dedication of George Hamilton. In 1971, he was determined to make this now classic film about the life of Evel Knievel which actually still had a long way to go as the legendary daredevil would go on to many more crowning acheivements long after this movie. Sure Knievel himself panned the movie and so have many others and it is indeed a slice of 70's schlock like no other but Hamilton's zeal and determination shine through and with over 40 years passing since it's release it still holds it's weight well and is an enjoyable view. There are many things that make this movie so classic like the scenes shot at Ontario Motor Speedway and the footage of the real Knievel's jumps interlaced throughout. In fact, he performed a record jump just for the movie at the speedway where he jumped 129 feet over 19 cars, and that record was held for 27 years. The movie has fallen out of copyright and is now in the public domain. If you are curious about the man Evel Knievel and/or like 70's films in general, you can't go wrong with this classic.
